      Great experience

      I had my grandson for part of a school year. He is 7 with special needs. From his first day at school the staff made the transition easy. This being his first time in a regular class he, and I, were a little nervous. He loved it from the get go. The principal, the counselor, the receptionist (that I feel runs the whole school), and all the staff care about the kids and it shows. Great school

      Hillcrest Elementary is a public, coeducational institution that provides educational services to students in kindergarten through grade four. It is a Title I school and is recognized by the Texas Education Agency. The school offers a variety of academic courses, including mathematics, science, writing, English and social studies. It runs the English as a Second Language program for students with limited English proficiency. The school s library has a collection of books, online resources, magazines and other reference materials that are available for classroom assignments, projects and reading pleasure. It provides special programs for gifted and talented, homeless, bilingual, migrant and dyslexic students, as well as students with limited English proficiency and disabilities. Hillcrest Elementary is a part of the Nederland Independent School District and is located in Nederland, Texas.
