Standard Times is a daily newspaper that provides news and information to residents in the greater New Bedford, Mass., area. The newspaper is printed mornings and has a circulation of more than 34,000 daily and 37,000 newspapers on Sunday. Its first edition, a four-page, tabloid-sized, five column newspaper, was printed on a hand press on February 15, 1850. Standard Times is owned by Ottaway Newspapers, the community newspaper arm of Dow Jones & Company. Ottaway operates nearly 20 dailies, 13 Sunday editions and 11 weeklies in more than 10 states.
