Booker T. Washington Middle School has partnerships with science museums, colleges and universities, environmental agencies and local businesses. The school serves students in grades six and eight. The middle school provides instruction in various core curriculum areas, including language arts, social studies, history, mathematics, science and English. Booker T. Washington Middle School also provides classes in several elective courses, such as art, band, choir, health and physical education, French and Spanish languages, speech and theater arts. Additionally, the school supports a range of special programs that include gifted and talented and special education. Booker T. Washington Middle School is a part of Newport News Public Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. The school is located in Newport News, Va.
