- Newton Public Schools offers education to more than 11,000 students in grades kindergarten through 12. The district consists of over 20 schools that include elementary, middle and high schools. Its curriculum includes mathematics, family and consumer science, foreign language, language arts, media, reading, science, social studies, physical and health education and vocational programs. The sports activities offered by the district include baseball, basketball, cross country, cheerleading, football, golf, hockey, swimming, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. It provides various extracurricular activities to students, such as performing arts, dramatics, photography, forensics, chorus, yearbook, National Honor Society, newspaper, student council, and French, science and mathematics clubs. The amenities offered by the district include science and computer laboratories, library, auditoriums, swimming pool, and tennis and basketball courts.
