I recently purchased blinds/shades from them for my bedroom. My #1 issue was to block out the light. The first ones we ordered were beautiful and I loved them, but they did not do the job - no fault to Lewis Dean whats-so-ever. George and his son, Ted came immediately to do a re-order - no questions asked. I again love the blinds they recommended and they definitely do the job of blocking the light. We recently puschased custom drapes from Lewis Dean for four large doorways leading to our deck and patio. The owner (George) was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. We visited their shop in Riverdale and spent over an hour discussing what we were trying to accomplish with the drapes, what the basic sizes of the drapes needed to be, colors in the room we were trying to match, and basic architectural feel we were wanting to achieve. George took our basic requirements and using his extensive knowledge of fabrics and what he could obtain from his vendors, provided a wide range of suggested fabrics (using fabric sample books) to consider and helped narrow down the options down to about ten promising fabrics. He then came to our house and spent a couple of hours helping finalize the fabric selections for each of the doors to make sure they matched wall and trim paint colors, as well as carpet color. Since the doors being coverd were quite large (8'x 6' to 8'x10') they ensured we came up with traverse rods the worked well for such large drapes. They did an exceptional job installing the drapes and they look great.
