General Info
At American National Bank, we believe in doing. Because doing is what starts a business, a profession or a farmstead-then grows it. What saves for a new home and provides for a family? Doing is what allows us to give back and help those in need. It's what makes our communities thrive. Makes your life, and the lives of your loved ones, better. And we're here to help you do even more. To help our customers accomplish their goals, then set new ones. To help businesses start, scale and go national. To find solutions and solve problems. To stand by your side and guide you through the good times and the bad. We start by listening-to understand your motivations, your needs, your goals and your options. We get to know our clients so we can help guide them on the best path possible. And we work side by side to deliver on our promises, achieve your goals and exceed your expectations. Together, we can do more.

Provided by DexKnowsHave been banking with them for a few years now. These people are NOT competent bankers. They have a very high bank manager turnover rate and in the process makes a lot of mistakes. In one instance I was told that I'm not a resident of NE because they don't have any records to show it. The real reason I found out is that their manager left and no one could find the paper work.In another instance I was checking on my car loan which had only two payments left on it. They told me I had another 12 payments and was completely clueless of the extra payments I've been making.Unless you like working with imbeciles, you should bank elsewhere.

Provided by DexKnowsOn government mandated audits, American's "auto loan" audits are outscourced to KPMG. Niether company provides you with ANY contact information such as a telephone number or email address should you have any questions about your account or your audit. The form they send merely says "If this information agrees with your record no reply is necessary." Unfortunately, if your record DOESN'T agree with their information, there is only one, slow recourse for you as they don't offer you a "live" contact. In the advent that their information is incorrect, it appears they don't want anyone to "speak" to them about it! The only recourse offered the customer is to fill out a form on the reverse side of the form they sent you and mail it in - and wait while the interest continues accrue - and contintue to make payment after payment (that you might not need to make!) while you're waiting for the response.Bottom line analysis - Current account "status" and other information = Not so hot.

Provided by YP.comWe had a car loan from ANB. We moved from Lincoln to Omaha and I stupidly misplaced our loan payment booklet and forgot to make payments for just about 4 months. Completely our fault, but had we gotten notification we were behind we would have responded ASAP. We never received any mail (had no problems with other mail being forwarded) or calls from ANB until our car was repossessed the day before a big snowstorm.
Despite their claim of saying that they want to work with people that get behind on their loans, they do not. I use Google Voice which records any voicemail I get and I have my entire voicemail history going back to almost a year before the car was repossessed, and there are *no* voicemails from anyone from American National Bank. And yes, they had our correct cell phone numbers. We even didn't found out until recently they they kept trying to call our old work location. Never made an effort to call where we currently worked even though that information was provided several times by co-workers at the old location.
When they sent us a letter to notify us that our car was sold at auction, they failed to even have any correct information besides our names and address. The dates, car, and loan amount were all wrong. How can you trust them as a bank when they can't even get your information correct?
So heaven help you if you ever get behind on your loan at all. You're better off banking with a credit union. They're local and actually willing to help work with you.
