- Dental ExaminationThe objective of orthodontic treatment is straightening of the teeth and correcting the bite. If the health of the teeth is ignored along the way, the treatment result can be significantly compromised. Therefore, effective brushing and flossing are one of the most critical actions needed from patients during braces. Regular visits to the general dentist for examination and cleaning are also essential.
- X-raysThere are two main types of dental X-rays: intraoral (meaning the X-ray film is inside the mouth) and extraoral (meaning the X-ray film is outside the mouth).
- Teeth CleaningCall us now to schedule a dental appointment for a professional dental cleaning or any dental care you may have been putting off before your benefits expire.
- Dental SealantsAnother benefit of tooth-colored fillings is that they are compatible with sealants allowing your dentist to perform both procedures in a single sitting preventing further decay. There are other advantages to composite, tooth-colored fillings, most importantly the capability of bonding to tooth structure. Also in many cases, they can be repaired by the addition of more composite material.
- Fillings
- VeneersThis is one way to quickly get that beautiful smile. Veneers are a thin shell of porcelain or resin that is bonded to the surface of the teeth. This can change their shape, shade, and position to improve the cosmetics of your teeth and smile. They are also used to replace and restore any lost tooth structure where indicated.
- CrownsEndodontic treatment is prescribed for teeth that have been diagnosed with an abscess, irreversible pulpitis, chronic apical periodontitis, inflammatory resorption or are necrotic (filled with the non-living blood vessel and nerve tissue). Endodontic treatment is also prescribed if the clinical crown of the tooth (the part that is visible protruding through the gum tissues) is badly broken down and would require structural posts to be placed in order to restore the tooth to normal function.
- BridgesReplacement of missing teeth with fixed bridgework preserves the normal bite relationship between the teeth, allowing for better-chewing force distribution. Dental bridges can be made from a variety of metals, porcelain, ceramic, tooth-colored resin, or combinations of these materials.
- Dental Bonding
- Root Canal TreatmentSometimes a tooth that requires endodontic treatment will be obvious from an X-ray image (radiograph), if there are obvious changes in the bone near the root tip(s)—even in the absence of symptoms. Sometimes teeth with deep decay (caries) require root canal treatment even though they may not hurt or be sensitive. A tooth that is particularly sensitive to hot temperatures, but is relieved by cold likely has gas from bacteria inside of it.
- DenturesCurrently, there are a number of options available for people who have lost their teeth. One of the most versatile and affordable is a set of removable dentures.
- Dental ImplantsDental implants may be thought of as replacement tooth roots. Although they are available in many shapes and sizes, depending on the specific problem to be solved, by far the most common type in use today is the “root-form” implant. Dental implants are among the most significant advancements in the history of dentistry for their versatility at replacing one tooth, several teeth—even all of the teeth.
- Oral Surgery
- Maxillofacial SurgeryOral & Maxillofacial surgery (OMS or OMFS) specializes in treating many diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the Oral (mouth) and Maxillofacial (jaws and face) region. It is an internationally recognized surgical specialty. Oral and maxillofacial surgery is one of the nine dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association, Royal College of Dentists of Canada, the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
- Tooth ExtractionsSurgical tooth extractions (also called “open extractions”) are tooth removal procedures in which surgical access is required to completely remove a tooth. In some cases require cut teeth into pieces.
- Orthodontics
- BracesA common misconception is that the braces themselves cause marks on the teeth. The reality is that the plaque left around the braces causes decalcification, otherwise decalcification would occur in everyone that had braces. Fortunately, decalcification is preventable by thorough brushing and flossing, along with regular visits to the general dentist/hygienist.
- Teeth WhiteningTeeth stains are inevitable due to our consumption of a variety of foods and drinks (soda, spicy food, coffee, etc.). However, advanced teeth whitening technology has enabled dentists to whiten teeth without adversely affecting the tooth structure.
