We visited Alvin’s Island store this past Sunday at 9401 Thomas Drive in panama city Beach, Fl. My wife did not tell me that she purchased shirt for my birthday, while I was looking at another section. I was still on the first floor while she looked in the Men’s section upstairs. The store was not busy at all. We came back home to Atlanta, GA. She gave me the present which was great however one of our dogs was looking at the shirt in the living room, had a food indigestion and what he ate landed on the shirt. Before we decided to wash the shirt I decided to call the store to just ask if someone in the store could help us and provide us with the web site or 800 number on the ticket tag. We wanted to make sure we used the correct cleaning chemicals to wash the shirt. I wanted to call the company and ask what they recommend. and a quick research would help us since it was a present and brand new. I got a young male person w and he knew the type of shirt I mentioned to him and the situation. He just informed me that it was busy, they had only part-time students which did not know what kind of shirt to look for and was not willing to help me. Its sounded to me that this person’s representation of Alvin’s Island store does not care and does not know what customer service is. It also sounded to me that they just want to sell the product and out the door. What this person did not know is that we as customers pay their salary and repeat business. I suggest to anyone going to Panama City Beach to the Alvin’s Island stores to shop at another more friendly store which has all the products they have, and are willing to help customers during and after their purchase. I will never purchase nor recommend this store to anyone, this includes everyone I know on Facebook.
