The Heart Institute at Bay Medical is the only comprehensive heart program in the Panama City area and is rated #1 in all of Northwest Florida for overall quality heart care. With five cardiac catheterization labs, Bay Medical is the only hospital offering angioplasty and stent placement to open clogged blood vessels in the heart as well as the only hospital offering open heart surgery. In addition, Bay Medical offers many specialized technologies to treat rhythm disorders and a dedicated cardiac intensive care unit and cardiac nursing floor with staff trained to care for the unique needs of heart patients. Patients at Bay Medical often recover in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation - an outpatient program that allows patients to begin an exercise program under monitored medical supervision and guidance.
