I went to the store to have orthotics made that duplicated the pair I got from my podiatrist. I was assured that they could duplicate the appliance. I went to pick up the appliance the heal was about 0.25 inches higher I asked why the made them differently I was told they were made that way to even the step of the orthotic. NOT an exact duplicate. They tried to take some material from the heal and it was clear they would not be able to duplicate the original. I ask if it was possible to get a refund of the $300.00 I paid for the appliance I was told no that they would “make adjustments” on them. I said I was not satisfied and left the store. I am sure there are many people who receive good service from the owners of the store. I am not a satisfied customer. A word of advice be very careful doing business here.

With the excruciating pain I was experiencing due to plantar fasciitis, I paid a visit to Best Made Shoes. My wife also suffered from plantar fasciitis pain. The individual who waited on us (please note he was rather smug) recommended a Birkenstock orthotic for both my wife and I. When I asked him the price of the item, he indicated it was $70 per pair (for a total of $140.) Although I thought this was rather pricey, I moved forward with the purchase. The orthotic he recommended seems to be working well for me and I wanted to purchase another pair. I searched the internet and found the identical item on Ebay for $39.20!!!



Talk about getting taken advantage of!! Thanks for ripping me off, Mr. Gene Rosen - you'll never see me again!!

After years of struggling to find shoes that would properly fit my leg braces, meeting the great people of Best Made Shoes changed my life. I’ve had 3 surgeries on my feet to repair damage from osteoarthritis. I thought foot pain was just something I had to learn to live with. I went for my 1 year check up post total ankle replacement surgery only to find out that arthritis has attacked a joint in my heal and that another fusion surgery is needed to fix it. There is no way I’m having more surgery right now. I had 2 surgeries within 6 months over a year ago and have still not fully recovered. I still don’t have total feeling back. Nerves are still trying to find a path to “regenerate”. So I left my doctor’s office with a cortisone shot and another brace. I was devastated at the thought of more surgery. I’m on the board of the Arthritis Foundation so I sought advice from my fellow board members. One of whom is a retired occupational therapist and she recommended Best Made Shoes. Best advice I’ve ever received. I bought 2 pairs of shoes and ordered 2 more. It is so wonderful to be able to walk with little to no discomfort. Wow! Shoes that fit properly. I'm so happy!! I'm walking normally, no limp. I don't know how to express my overwhelming satisfaction. Who knew wearing shoes that actually fit properly could change my life. I wore the athletic shoes all day Saturday (shopping) and Sunday (house cleaning and laundry). I was able to do in one day what would have taken me 3 weekends of as much discomfort as I could tolerate. I couldn't wait for winter to wear the black rocker shoes, so I picked out a black outfit to wear today so I could wear them. These shoes are perfect. I discovered Best Made Shoes about 10 years ago. I was experiencing sever foot problems because of my diabetes and had already had a toe amputated. The guys atBest made Soes have been great they make me molded shoes and orthotics and I have had very minor foot problems since. I have been so impressed with their caring and how they treat me as one of the family. I recommend Best Made Shoes to my friends and family and feel so comfortable as doing such. I have been to all the regular shoe stores and to every speciality store in Pittsburgh. I have terrible feet and no one could help me. I finally asked my foot doctor and he said he sends all his patients to best-made shoes. I visited and was treated so well. It is a family business and they spent hours with me trying to find the best choices for me. We ended up getting custom made shoes that they make right in the store. After decades I can finally walk without pain. Thank you so much. I now send everyone to your store. My grandson loves Birkenstock and loves your store too!

I left this store with the worst custom shoes. HEAVY & UGLY when I aksed the man to make an adjustment on them he told me no my feet are the problem I said I realize that, that is why I came here. Thay did nothing but take my money. The owner was nice when I went in but very rud when he relized he was unable to help. I did go to a competator after I left there and thay di help me I would NOT RECAMOND this place.
