Chef Greg Higgins is the master. He has made Portland famous for great, local based organic foods crafted with great care. A James Beard award winner, for obvious reasons. Sit in the back bar booths!

Best cheese burger I have every had in my life. Period

I used to frequent this restaurant more often. I took some friends there for a lunch and planned for it to be a good outing. The waitress was rude to us and acted like we were an inconvenience. Usually we had other servers but today we had this bitter lady. If I decide to go back, at least the food is good, I will make sure not to sit at one of her table's.

We've eaten here for special occasions over the last few years and we always enjoy the conistency. They always use NW specialties and things that grow in our region.

Love this charming old restaurant and enjoy the location very much. Great service is also key.

Location, location, location--Higgins has definitely got that, plus good food and great service! Everybody has to go at least once a year. The bar is usually crowded, and the entire place is pretty small, but that makes it more desirable.

The menu changes with the best ingredients in the most creative combinations. The staff is consistently attentive. I love to bring out of town guests here. A NW gem.

Greg Higgins uses only the best local ingredients for his uniquely Northwest restaurant. You always know that the food has been hand selected from known vendors. Located in the museum district on SW Broadway, it is close to many wonderful downtown destinations. The wine selection is outstanding. Service is attentive without being overbearing, and the wait staff is thoroughly knowledgable about the offerings.

For business or just a night out....easy walk from the Heathman or Hilton if you are staying downtown....food is A plus!

Higgins is an excellent place for a nice dinner before or after a show at the Schnitz or Keller. The chef prepares food with fresh in-season ingredients, and is creative, but not weird-creative. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for out-of-town visitors and locals alike who are looking for a nice dinner.

Very nice, trendy hot spot for fine cuisine. The food is pretty good, but sometimes needs a little more refinement. The seasoning of all of the dishes are not always consistent. That's not to say their bad or average, because their very good. I just wish that the vinaigrettes always had the same "punch" when I order them on different occasions. The charcuterie plate is excellent! This is a must have when you come here. The wine selection is very nice, too. The desserts are above average. You can tell the chef/owner specializes in the savory more than the sweet. And that's all right.
