Insurance companies do not pay you a fair amount because they want to. They only pay you when they have to. Oftentimes, after I file a lawsuit, Insurance companies significantly increase the offer because they have to weigh the risk of settlement against the risk of a big jury verdict. Most of the time they will not take that risk and end up paying my clients a fair settlement. Insurance companies rarely offer you a fair amount for your injuries without a lawyer. Three examples: 1.
