Go somewhere else!

I have been a patient here for about 3 years now and this is, hands down, one of the worst dental offices I have ever been to. Sometimes the staff are friendly but for the most part they are not. The woman in the finance department in specialty, is always pleasant and I've never had an issue with her. I always feel I am as nice as I can be because no one gets anywhere being rude and angry. I've gotten responses when trying to schedule appointments such as: "tough luck you have to miss work, our office doesn't revolve around you". Now this was when I was asking for a later appointment because I have a difficult time taking time off of work. I currently have braces and so I go back and forth between the specialty department and the general dentistry department. The Specialty department seems more pleasant however, I've gotten negative responses from both sides. The general dentist I've seen is very very sloppy. I always have to come back to have fillings shaved down (from either being too big or too rough and jagged) or have them adjusted because she rushes through them. I have never ever been to a dental office where they didn't take the time to work on a filling. It is very sad and annoying because these are people's teeth they are working with! During my last cleaning 2 weeks ago, the dental hygienist was so unpleasant. She didn't even floss my teeth!! This woman got water all over my face and in my eyes and the cleaning was literally 10 minutes. Shortest dental cleaning of my life! You would think they would take more time since I have braces! She barely talked to me and when I asked why X-rays weren't taken (because it's been one year) her response was "who knows". I asked if they could be done (since it's protocol yearly) and she said she would look into it. She found out I was days shy of it being one year so insurance wouldn't cover them. When asked why I was scheduled that way (because the receptionists are usually good about catching that) she responded with "I don't know, it's not my problem". This last appointment was the last straw. I am looking into changing offices but I've found out it's very difficult and expensive since I have braces (orthodontists don't prefer their patients change providers during treatments). So I will wait until my braces are off and then I will change dental providers immediately. I don't care if I have to go to my old dentist in Chicago. If I have to drive 1.5-2 hours to see my dentist then it would be worth it compared to going to Rockford Dental Care because at least I will know I am in good hands. Please please please, if you care about your teeth and care about being treated respectfully, then go somewhere else!
