The end product turned out “...

The end product turned out “nice.” That said, I am very disappointed with the overall experience of working with Bel Pre. My contractor arranged our installation in one bath in our house. I would not have dealt with the company beyond that except we decided to install another glass door in our upstairs bath. I got 3 bids and Bel Pre came in $300 higher than one bid and $200 higher than another. I called Courtney (manager?) to ask about the big price difference (the specs. were identical). I got a song and dance about people working out of their vans, and gimmicks, their “superior” customer service and that being the best they could do. So I decided to go with another company for the install (www.showerdoorking.com, a very responsive small business who followed up with me even when I didn’t select them). I told my contractor that we would work with someone else and about 5 minutes later, Courtney miraculously e-mailed him that the price had dropped (by $100) if I worked directly with Bel Pre. My contractor indicated that this is because he decided to remove his cut of the profit to maintain the business relationship with them (which begs the question who he was working for—but that’s a different review). Since they had already come out and measured, I figured that not having to go through the estimate process again was worth it. So, install day comes, a Friday, we were at work all day and we came home to find two very messy bathrooms (dust everywhere, chunks of tile on the floor and in the shower, glass covered in fingerprints, drops of silicone) and that the panel upstairs was installed with the wrong finish on the hinges. No note was left, no phone message or e-mail communication to explain the mistake. I called the company and at 3pm on a Friday and was told that Courtney had left for the day, that the installer would likely not have time to return my call and they are closed on the weekend. Nice service. I e-mailed Courtney about the problem that afternoon and never did hear back from her. Instead, a woman (receptionist) called the following Tuesday and told me that they would be coming Thursday to fix the issue. No apology, she could not offer any information and she did not ask when it would be convenient for me to have them come back, just told me that Thursday was it. We settled on a date that actually worked for me—another week+ later. The day came and two installers showed up. One tracked mud up my carpeted stairs and when I asked what happened on the initial install, they said that it wasn’t their fault and that their work order had been wrong. So, basically, these people need a lesson in customer service. I am less upset that it went poorly and they left messes behind, and am really just bothered by the initial lying about “gimmicks” (when my contractor was getting a cut that I was paying for) and then that there was no one in the company willing to call me directly, apologize for the mistake and ask how they could make it right. Further, after they did do the final install (correcting their mistake), there was no follow up there either. The only way that I knew our business together was complete, a charge on my credit card statement. I would never work with this company again and I would not recommend them to anyone I know.

As a company we do push customer service to all of our employees & I'm sorry that the above customer didn't feel that this was the case with her project. We understand at times there can be errors with orders & we do the best we can to correct & resolve these in a timely fashion. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. In regards to pricing, we do provide trade discounts to contractors & decorators. It is up to the contractor or designer if they want to pass this discount onto their customer or not. This is not a "gimmick" but just the way business is conducted in the construction industry. We are a family business & stand behind our honest business practices

Had great results!

Our general contractor uses Bel Pre Glass Works for many of their jobs and used them for our newly customized bar which required a lot of glass shelving and mirrors which turned out quite striking - no mistakes either!

Later on my husband used them for a large print glass replacement which turned out perfect and on time as well.

Definitely would recommend Bel Pre Glass Works!

Shady business practices from Bel Pre

I suggest anyone who does business with Bel Pre be VERY careful when dealing with the salesmen. Be very clear about what you are ordering and getting. They pulled a bait and switch on us. We got a good estimate but the product came out not to be what we asked for. They trimmed back on the materials to increase their profit level. The installers were competent and did good work, but beware the salesmen, no professional business ethics what so ever.

This is an untrue account of what actually happened. All materials provided were as exactly described on the contract and approved by customer. This was a mutiple unit job and all customers recieved the same unit for the same price. Customer did not read and fully understand contract...we always provide a contract to our customers with exactly whats being provided so we do not have a situation arise where its a "he said, she said" problem....again READ the contract and FULLY unstand what you are getting...if you do not....ASK questions..
