The Montgomery County Department of Police is a nationally accredited, full-service law enforcement agency. It prevents crime, protects residents lives and their property, suppresses criminal activity and apprehends criminals. The department undertakes various criminal cases and works with other local, state and federal agencies to ensure public safety. The Montgomery County Department of Police maintains a criminal investigation division that undertakes cases related to burglary, homicide, identity theft, fraud and robbery. It also has a records division that manages and processes department reports, requests, firearm permits, registrations and documents.
