Unfortunately,… Smog is a necessary evil in the State of California. There is the anxiety and worry of your vehicle not passing. Then what? We have to fork out nickel and dime or thru the roof repairs to keep us on the road without law enforcement intervention. We can only stay under the radar for so long while putting it off, and hope we don’t get nicked.

Time is precious and the registration on the vehicle was lapsed by a few months. So to expedite the process I took it to my regular shop and they said they could get a new air box lid and replace it on the same day. Friday, I took the vehicle back to Smog Stop and she passed. When foregoing with a smog failure, one is still required to pay for a majority portion of the service, which is a little over $50.00. When I took the vehicle to the same place, ergo Smog Stop, I paid the difference on the second attempt, which was about $8.00.

In conclusion, if you want to laugh a little while going through the necessary State B.S. just to drive your vehicle, give Smog Stop a visit, and talk for a while with Rich. When it is busy, you may not receive as much of his attention. Yet, if it is slow, it’s all good. The entire staff is very professional and attentive to the service provided. The price in my opinion is reasonable, while the final decision of pass or fail is rendered objectively. Rich will not diagnose the issue, however he can give you a few hints as to what the problem really is, such as my air hose nibble being broken. If I could, I would give Rich and his team at Smog Stop 10+ Stars for Price, Service, and personability. Well done, Gentlemen!

This is a very convenient location and the service was fast. However, the man that helped me at the counter was not friendly at all and made me feel like I was bothering him when I came in. He seemed friendly enough to other men that were in there but did not even bother to look at me the entire time he processed my vehicle. I will probably not go back there next year when I need to have a smog check on my car. This was my first time doing it in this area so next time I will ask around for referrals.
