John D O'Bryant School of Mathematics and Science is a college preparatory school. Founded in 1893, the school was known as the Mechanic Arts High School. It offers various science, technology, engineering, and mathematics programs integrated with humanities. The school, located in Roxbury, Mass., offers honor programs in English, science and mathematics. It also offers advanced-placement courses in biology, physics, chemistry, calculus, writing, English, U.S. history and Spanish. The school s sports activities include baseball, basketball, tennis, volleyball, hockey, rowing, soccer and swimming. The school also offers a wide array of extracurricular activities, including clubs, arts and enrichment programs and academic tutoring.
