Do not buy from this company. The owner Bruce McCombs is all nice and helpful until he receives your money. I ordered my furniture in August and was promised the furniture in September; however I did not receive my furniture until almost November. I called Bruce in October to cancel the order and he refused my request. Once I received the furniture it was lighter in color even though he guaranteed me it would match my current furniture perfectly. There was wood putty over open nail holes and putty was placed in cracks to conceal flaws/mistakes in the wood. He also overcharged me on the freight.
Heed this warning……..Do not buy from this company or Bruce McCombs. He would never return my calls once I gave him my money. He claims his store has been in business for 20+ years however, I pulled a Dunn and Bradstreet report on Pacific Bedrooms and it states he has only been in business a few short years. Again Bruce is all great and wonderful until it’s time to deliver.

17 years ago my husband and I bought a replacement waterbed from Pacific Bedrooms to replace one we had purchased from them back in the 1970's! As we grew older it was getting more and more difficult to get in and out of the bed and we hated the thought of having to give up our waterbed but, we began to explore conventional mattress options. We called Bruce at Pacific Bedrooms to inquire about whether we could use our existing oak frame with a conventional mattress. Bruce suggested that we consider a soft-sided, dual bladder waterbed mattress which would give each of us the ability to set our own temperature and firmness and which would sit a few inches above the existing frame thus giving it the profile of a conventional mattress and making it very easy to get in and out of.

We went ahead with the purchase and Bruce spent an entire day installing the system, making sure each bladder was filled to the firmness each of us preferred and taking away the old mattress. We couldn't be happier with our new bed or with Bruce's personalized attention to every detail and his follow-up to make sure everything was as promised and as expected. Bruce and his wife Jackie are exceptional business owners that are seldom found in today's business world. They not only have the highest ethical values but are genuinely nice people! My wife and I purchased a Boyd Night Air Mattress System at Pacific Bedrooms in 2003 and have enjoyed very comfortable sleep over the past 10 years. In the same year, we moved from the SF Bay Area to the Northern California Sierra Foothills.



When a leak developed recently in the left side lumbar air chamber and/or air pump connectors, Bruce personally guided me by email & phone communications to troubleshoot the location of the air leaks. This air mattress system has separate Left & Right tri-zonal air mattresses with individualized air pump controllers to adjust Head/Foot and Lumbar air chambers.

In 2003 I purchased the Blackhawk Monterey bedroom set from a local furniture store. Fast forward 8 years and the furniture sore is out of business as is Blackhawk furniture. I wanted to add another piece. So I Googled Blackhawk furnitue and the only store that came up was Pacific Bedrooms, 3000 miles away !! After calling them and speaking to Bruce McCombs the owner, he assured me that yes he can deliver it here. After sending a deposit by credit card July 18, Bruce asured me there would be no problems. Bruce kept me apprised of the progress by email or phone call. Finally it was delivery time, approximately 6 weeks later. The furniture arrived on the date promised protected by bubble wrap within a thick cardboard box. by UPS curbside delivery. The furniture arrived in perfect condition. Just like the average internet customer, I was very hesitant about purchasing such a large order with a firm that was located over 3000 miles away (California to the Chicago land area). I worried about quality, shipment issues, integrity of the company; I did the research on Pacific Bedrooms, read the reviews and decided to contact Bruce McCombs.



From the moment that we began discussing my needs (a dresser and a custom made chest) Bruce was there to clarify the process and insure me that what I wanted could be accomplished. He worked with me to get the dimensions correct and initiate the process. My wife and I wanted to expand our bedroom wall unit from a queen to a king, and when we found out that Blackhawk Furniture (the original manufacturer) was out of business, we though we were sunk. So we were thrilled to find out that there was someone out there who had picked up their leftover stock and designs, and was still able to provide components to match our existing bedroom furniture.



Unfortunately, the components we needed were no longer in stock. But Bruce McCombs, the sales representative for Pacific Bedrooms, said that they could custom-make the components to match our set. Being halfway across the country, we were a little nervous about this at first, but Bruce quickly gained our trust with his honesty and willingness to work with us through this unique situation. We sent him pictures of our set, and he promptly provided a quote. The price was fair enough for us, and we decided to do it.



We sent a deposit via credit card, and then began to work out a few loose ends. Bruce made sure we had covered every detail, from the placement of a light dimmer switch, to making sure we had the correct color (he suggested that we send a cabinet door from our existing headboard to ensure they achieved a color match). I admit we were a little picky about things, but Bruce was patient, and treated us with professionalism and genuine concern for our satisfaction with every detail.



When our order was complete, Bruce sent us the UPS Freight tracking information. Everything was safely-packed in foam, bubble-wrap, and wooden crates and shipped along with all the necessary hardware to do the conversion. They really thought of everything. Assembly went smoothly, and I'm happy to say that my wife and I are absolutely thrilled with our new king bed! The new components match our set in every detail - woodgrain, texture, fine details and features, and even the color. Recently, I contacted Pacific Bedrooms about a crucial part to a bed that I purchased over 11 years ago. The owner treated me as if I was family. His concern was as great as mine to get the problem resolved, professionally but with a friendly flair. We had purchased Blackhawk furniture years ago when we lived in Montana at a local furniture store. Blackhawk is now out of business. HOWEVER, Pacific Bedrooms has some of Blackhawk's stock, and better yet, they make perfect matches of the originals. We recently ordered several pieces for a guest bedroom, as well as a mirror to match our original dresser. They all arrived last week in excellent condition, (from California to Oklahoma), and look absolutely beautiful. The workmanship on the new pieces is even better than the original. I am also told by Bruce, the owner of Pacific Bedrooms, that they can custom build a matching desk. Everything in this transaction was perfect from start to finish. The reason I am writing a review is because too many people are quick to speak or write when things go bad, but never do when they go good. This company deserves a good review. Bruce McCombs went above and beyond with my cedar chest purchase. Like others have said, we also have several other Blackhawk bedroom pieces and were thrilled to still be able to buy furniture to match. They even had a layaway plan we could use. Bruce always sent the most sincere and informative emails every step of the way. We are over 3000 miles from where they are and my chest arrived packed better than we could have ever imagined and PERFECT!

We are planning on expanding our bedroom in a couple years and hopefully they will still have pieces left because I definitely want more.

Like other reviewers, my wife and I purchased pieces of a Blackhawk Furniture set several years ago from a local store in the Portland Oregon area. Last year we started a remodel that is just being completed, and with the additional space we decided to add other pieces we wanted. Searching the internet, the only place left that sold it was in San Jose. I emailed Pacific Bedrooms, and Bruce McCombs responded. He and I corresponded by email while I learned about what was available and how he could send it to our house in Oregon. It just so happened that I was scheduled to attend a conference in San Jose in August, so my wife and I made a vacation out of the trip and visited Pacific Bedrooms. Bruce was very helpful, and we easily made arrangements to have the pieces we wanted sent in December when the remodel would be completed. After we returned home, I stayed in touch with Bruce and everything was sent as scheduled and arrived safe and sound. All the pieces were packaged extremely well. There was no damage whatsoever. My wife had a blast unpacking everything--it made for a great Christmas present. I live in Southern California. I purchased a Black Hawk bedroom set 15 years ago & wanted to add pieces to my existing set along with another set. I was pleased to find Pacific Bedrooms & from my first contact with Mr. McCombs, I was treated with nothing but respect & patience. He was honest about the fact that his company had purchased all of the remaining Black Hawk inventory after their company closed. His patience was needed as I was nervous about making such a large purchase (over $2500), sight unseen, from such a distance. When I finally placed my order, I was kept informed of shipping & arrival time frames. Mr. McComb explained the entire process, no matter how many times I asked. When my order shipped, it arrived just as Mr. McComb had assured me it would be: packaged so well that there was not a scratch on any of my pieces & they were beautiful. A handle on my dresser broke when friends were moving it for me. Don't lift furniture using the handle! It's not that much of a purchase but it certainly was necessary. I googled dealers for Blackhawk furniture and found Pacific Bedrooms. I had no documents from my original purchase so no clue what I had. Bruce guided me through on what to do which took a couple of e-mails but we achieved my goal. Just in case, I purchased extras for insurance. It was a purchase for under $50 and yet I was treated with friendly respect. I received my order in less than a week though it was shipped across country.
