I needed a spare key. I know that a local hardware shop could have helped me with it, but the only problem was, it was 10:30 pm and all the shops were shut. Before turning into San Jose Lock Masters loyal customer, Ive had quite a few miserable experiences. Here's one: there was this shop in San Jose, CA (I dont exactly recall its name) that claimed to offer services at rock-bottom prices. They say that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! But the lucrative prices clouded my judgment and I called them up for a simple lock repair job. At the end of it all, Id spent around $500 on a totally unnecessary smart lock, some new locks on my windows and a brand new chain lock. I didnt feel cheated at that point. But when the smart lock stopped working within the next two weeks, and the security door chain popped out of its socket, thats when I felt cheated!Eric from San Jose Lock Master was sympathetic and told me that it was a common practice among most locksmiths to quote cheap rates initially and find ways to scam customers later. San Jose Lock Master were so great with my finicky front door lock. Paul was on the phone for at least 30 min asking me questions and getting me to try a bunch of different things in order to avoid a service call. Mike was very prompt, efficient, and courteous. We recently moved and wanted to re-key our new place. Edwardo was very responsive on the phone; Mike came as scheduled; and everything went very smoothly. Mike was very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous, and explained everything he was doing (including improving on the original installations). Because of our mistake, we missed one of our doors and had to call Mike back out on a separate appointment. He was very accommodating and just as professional as before. We couldn't ask for more. Sure enough, 2 minutes later Paul was calling me and after explaining the issue, he suggested I save myself some money and just spray with wd40 and to call him back if that didn't work, he could have someone out by the end of the day. I'm completely embarrassed I didn't think of that myself, but I tried it and it worked like a charm. So, I have no in -person experience with them, but the honesty and promptness was greatly appreciated. This will be my go-to locksmith the next time I have a legitimate issue ;)

This is a top-notch company! When my tenant moved out, I needed to have all the locks re-keyed. Based on the great reviews I called San Jose Lock Master - and completely agree with all of the raves. A very polite woman took my call and information, letting me know that the locksmith would contact me shortly. Paul called me within an hour or so and I was scheduled for the next day. It was James who actually came to re-key my locks. He arrived on time, was extremely pleasant and professional, and had my locks all done within an hour! The price was reasonable, and as quoted. Hope I don't need it, but this will be my go-to locksmith!
