Don't go to Kinship.

IN MY OPINION, they have an agenda.

You will have an initial interview, and they will say, “We have that here,” to every single request and concern you raise.

As you go through the classes, they will steer you away from your original request and push you to accept black boys, special needs, and LARGE sibling-groups.

They will say, “Our children are more impacted here.”

That’s a lie.

Kinship Center has access to all different kinds of children. But they will ignore your carefully filled out TEN-PAGE questionnaire, and force you to take children THEY want you to take.

Kinship Center is specifically choosing African-American boys. They deny it, but the reason is – possibly – money. They are a private agency, and perhaps they receive more money be placing hard-to-place children.

This is, at best, unethical; at worst, illegal. All of it would be legal if they stated upfront that they will cherry-pick black boys, older children, disabled children, and large sib-sets.

Kinship’s attitude is: You need us – forever!

To ensure that you need them forever, (and keep paying, and paying and paying some more) they will grossly mismatch you with children, which – in the end, no matter how much counseling you receive – will hurt both you, and the child.

When my spouse and I didn’t waiver in the child we knew we could raise best, Sharon Roszia kicked us out of the course, and did so illegally. She was supposed to put it IN WRITING why we were “kicked out.”

She didn’t.
