Provided by YP.comRUINED DRESS, DO NOT GO! Very bad service. No one called to tell my dress was ready, it took a week and a half and tail came back DUSTY! After I confronted Vera about all this, she was rude to my mother and I would repeatedly shake her head no and not look us in the eye. She was also muttering under her breath as we left. Sorry attempt at altering my wedding dress and ended up charging me extra because she (Vera) was not aware that it would take extra material so I initially bought the dress online for $150 and alterations by Vera cost me $174. How does that make sense? BTW she only had to alter the straps and 3 inches all around the midsection.

Provided by YP.comVery unprofessional & overpriced.
I dropped off a casual, cotton dress that needed a new zipper. I was told by the employee that they'd "call" when it was complete. Over a week later, I hadn't heard anything so, I stopped in to check. My dress had been misplaced & nothing had been done. Thankfully, I had my drop-off ticket & they were eventually able to find it. 10 more days went by. I stopped in again to check & was told that it was ready. (Never received the promised call). The charge was almost $30! WAY overpriced for such a simple fix. Even worse given the multiple mistakes on their part.

Provided by YP.comI was sooo disappointed by this shop. I took my wedding dress in to get it altered and she marked it on the hem as well as the sides. She didn't have a good system for keeping track of things and was more expensive than I thought it would be. Almost 500 dollars for the hem, taking in the sides and a bustle. So I asked her not to hem the dress, unfortunately she had already marked it will wax chalk on a satin dress, which you should never do! And now that my dress fits in the top it only needs to be hemmed a half inch but there is a stain of chalk all the way around the front that won't come off!!! You would think someone who has been in the business for twenty years would know that when you make the top fit the hem line could change! Can you imagine if she had actually cut off and hemmed the bottom, it would be almost three inches too short. On top of everything the dress was not ready when she said it would be. But instead of fixing it and getting the stain out, pressing the seams, and fixing the hand stitching like she said she would, she just put it back in the bag and told me it was all done. I guess I am just really naive because I believed her. Then when i opened the bag to look at the dress she hadn't done anything!!! The stain is still there across the whole front of the hem, the hand stitching isn't done and the seams were not pressed...Overall she was totally unprofessional and took my beautiful dress and made it a huge mess. I only hope i can get it repaired. I do not recommend going to her.

Provided by YP.comI brought a mess of a wedding dress to Ms. Vera 2-3 weeks before my out of state wedding. Not only did she fix major issues, re-design other problem areas, and offer comfort when I was uncertain, her price for such substantial last-minute overhauls were beyond reasonable and certainly within my meager budgetary restrictions. My dress became beautiful, I felt wonderful, and it was all due to this business and skilled staff. If this sounds excessive, understand that the choice to use this business was the only one that came through on the terms agreed upon with respect to the wedding. Designs By Vera has my business and strongest recommendations, bar none. Thanks so much!
