Incorporated in 1929, Scituate Rod & Gun Club, Inc. is one of the earliest clubs on the South Shore. Based in North Scituate, Mass., it offers a range of events, such as skeet, pistol matches, rifle and muzzleloader matches, kid s derby and many more. It holds rifle shooting games periodically throughout the year. Formats are varied but include Blackpowder Muzzleloader, Military and rimfire matches. The Cowboy Shooters compete as the Gunnysackers. The skeet matches of Scituate Rod & Gun Club Inc. are of the lucky target variety. The club also organizes a state-approved Firearms Safety Course every month.
