DETAILS
General Info
I began my professional career in Seattle, Washington in 1975 for Touché Ross & Company after completing my Master's in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Cincinnati (Ohio). Prior to that I had completed two years of active duty and separated from the military as a 1st. Lieutenant in 1973 as a result of graduating from the University of Dayton's R.O.T.C. program. At the University of Dayton I was on a full-ride 4-year football scholarship, and majored in Psychology. While working on my MBA, I took my first income tax course, and the professor inspired me to further explore this area, which led to my employment by H&R Block during the next two tax seasons while I completed my MBA, emphasis in accounting, and all electives in the field of taxation. At the Big-Eight CPA Firm (Touché Ross & Company), In my first year I managed to work in both the audit department (a requirement for all accounting graduates, but not law graduates) as well as the tax department. The next four years were exclusively in the tax department. The tax department grew from a staff of eight to over 55 during my tenure. I also had the opportunity to be a part-time lecturing professor at the University Of Washington School Of Business teaching various tax oriented courses. Fee's at this firm a reflective of the depth of experience that I bring to the table, and without all of the layers that exist in a larger firm, I find that my fees are less than the larger firms, but are fair to me because I can spend less time not having to train the staff. Also, a lot also depends on how organized a client's tax records are delivered can make a big difference in the time required to prepare a tax return. By focusing on income taxation, it allows my background to be applied at its "highest and best use"!! The current client base tends to be higher income and net worth individuals, and numerous small businesses that cover the full range of entities (i.e. Proprietorships; Partnerships; Limited Liability Companies; S Corporations; C Corporations; Trusts; and Estates). I encourage a face to face meeting to discuss how we might best work together.
