Shenk's Services advertises remodeling/building as part of their services; however: buyer beware!. We were promised quality work and got "substandard" for the most part. We were promised, and paid for, experienced, quality drywall installation and finishing (he used himself and lawn care workers to hang drywall - they had not done this before and work was very shoddy), carpenters were "picked up off the street" instead of a qualified team he had indicated he had, bath fan was not vented correctly, he did not get an insulation inspection as required by the county, he brought in cheaper windows "off the shelf" instead of what we had agreed upon when we hired him, he painted outside doors himself (instead of hiring a pro) which immediately warped and peeled, we caught him using old, 33 year old insulation he had ripped out our our home on an exterior wall instead of new insulation that we paid for, we also caught him using old, black weathered 2 x 4's in framing in several areas, and it goes on and on. When he installed a strip of wood over our hall closet door to hide the metal strip and was told we couldn't open the door he finally came back, but instead of fixing the strip properly he got out a pocketknife and carved an "arch" in it which looks horrible. This was his only solution. He has 3 code violations against him currently and shows no inclination of fixing these problems even though he promised the County building department he would. He promises the best, then cuts corners and outright changes the quality he promises. We found him to be very unknowledgeable about many aspects of remodeling. He offered a few "excuses" as to why things went the way they did but several times when we questioned why we didn't get the items or quality we were promised he said "I just didn't" or "this is good enough for you" (how can it be "good enough" if the service and products we agreed upon wasn't given?) We would not recommend Shenk's Services to anyone wanting remodeling/building based on his performance and attitude at our home and his reluctance to correct things the county is holding him responsible for. After several years of trying to get him to finish his work, according to code, we feel he shows lack of professionalism and pride in his work.

Good hardworking crew that is sure to get the job done and done right. Had the pleasure of working with Robbie and found him to be honest and easy to work with. I highly recomend Shenk Services!
