During labor, Becky asked if they could take pictures for me, pictures being taken was never discussed previously. After being reassured by Becky that my privacy would be protected, I agreed, as I was told I would only have access on a password protected site. The pictures ended up being posted on The Birth Center Flickr page(used to advertise the center I believe), the privacy setting set to PUBLIC enabling anyone to view nude photos (everyone on the internet got to see my exposed chest), my last name was listed with the photos as well. These pictures were up for a few months on their Flickr page. I was made to believe by them that certain private areas would not be photographed... I am a patient of Rebecca McInnis, CNM. She has been my midwife for the birth of my two oldest children and is for my third (I'm due June 2012). She and her staff have always given me great care and attention, both during my pregnancy and most especially during the births of my children. I cannot imagine birthing any other way. I wish I could describe my feelings more, but I am at a loss for words. I will say two things- one, my husband promptly insisted I contact Becky right away when we discovered I was pregnant again to make sure I could get a spot (amazing how she limits how many patients she takes so she can insure the greatest of care to each one); two, I wish every woman knew what they are missing out on when they don't consider all their birthing options, because Becky and her staff know the sacred and beautiful nature of birth and have ALL the knowledge and skills to safely guide ALL of their families through the tender experience of giving life.
