I have mixed feeling about this shop but definitely will come back again. Couple months ago my son broke his bridge. It was on the Saturday, I could not get most of the shop in this town would promise me to get it replace or adjustment at 10am and done on the same day. Any way we got it fixed and we left the bow there for rehair. The whole thing cost us about $150 including the leather piece replacement. I was told by my son teacher I was probably overcharged. I have no experience with string instruments but I knew it was quite expensive especially for those families who can't afford with this price. At any rate we need a set of string urgently for the competition coming up in 3 days. I called him again and he quoted me the price of $76.99 for Vision Solo set. At 4:45pm, I could not get Amend Music Center to change the strings for me. I made it to Custom String by 5:00pm got the new set of strings and replaced. I left the store at 5:15pm after he checked everything up. Including tax I paid about $85 and very happy with the price. I would come back again, first of all for the convenience and most importantly, availability.

Tonight I visited Custom Strings for the first time and was simply amazed! I needed a set of strings for my violin and the gentleman working (owner?) took the time to explain how the different strings would sound. He also played my violin and recommended a set (which weren't the most expensive!)



I was then even more amazed when he offered to install the new strings for free! Not only did he install, tune and tinker with the new strings but he also adjusted my bridge and sound posts.



My violin simply sounds the best it has in 20 years. Absolutely amazing!
