STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! I went in for a pedicure and decided to get a manicure afterwards. The pedicure hurt a little when she was cutting my nails but I didn't think anything of it until I got home and noticed that one of my toes was bleeding and the nail polish had just hid the blood. But that wasn't the biggest issue. The thing that BROUGHT ME TO TEARS is when the manicure started. The technician asked if I wanted a cut down and I said "just a little to even them out" since a couple of my nails were shorter than the others (and by shorter, I mean about a millimeter difference, nothing dramatic). When I looked at my first hand to see what she had done (because I couldn't see until she was finished), she had cut my nails so low that there was hardly any white at all! My nails had gone from extending out past the tips of my fingers to now hardly having anything left to them. Why would someone think it is ok to do that to a client or that a client would want that to be done unless they EXPLICITLY said so? When I started to cry (because it has taken me a very VERY long time to let them grow strong and out that far after years of habitual acrylics), another woman came over and asked if I didn't want them cut and when I told her that I said I just wanted them evened out, I held up my other hand to show the drastic difference of my now ruined nails. They kept asking if I wanted tips to make them long again but why would I now opt to get tips and pay them for something that resulted from THEIR actions? I asked to just have the other hand evened out so that the two hands matched and even in doing that, the second woman didn't bother to cut the nails on the second hand straight at all and I had to fix them myself when I got home. THEY HAVE DESTROYED MY NAILS. My bloody-toed and nub-nailed self has already sent pictures to all of my friends in the Springfield and Alexandria areas, but hopefully this review will save others from making the same mistake of going here as I did.

If it didn't happen to me, I wouldn't believe it.... Mia, the owner of Escape Nails at Springfield was sitting with a customer when I walked in. I had booked a full leg wax, pedicure and manicure. She told me to go pick my colors since she was helping another customer but I suggested it might be better to do the waxing first since I was getting a pedicure. She agreed and then mid-manicure, told the customer to go to another chair where she would find someone else to finish. I said I could wait and I'm was fine if she wanted to finish with the customer, but she insisted. We then proceeded to the back room (which is less than professional and so unclean!) where she started my waxing. First of all, the wax was BOILING so I mentioned this to her. She started blowing on it to cool it but it was still really hot. She also didn't put any baby powder before starting and when she put the wax on, it was against the hair, pushing them upwards and then pulling the wax-strips downwards! Needless to say, there wasn't a lot of hair coming off the leg and it was clear she didn't know what she was doing. As she was scalding my leg with the wax and not getting very far with pulling hairs, I leaned forward and very politely asked if she had been doing this for a while. She asked why and I mentioned that the hair wasn't coming off. "I'm not done!" She replied rudely and then just stopped, put the wax pot away and said "Juts put your clothes on and leave." I was totally taken aback and asked for the owner. Turns out, she IS the owner. I told her I've never ever in my life had such an experience and asked what exactly was happening to which she replied, "I've been doing this for 20 years and I can see your not happy and therefore I'm going to be upset, so leave." I was stunned! I did as she instructed but asked to see her certification. She ignored my request and walked to the back. This was the most unbelievably crazy situation I have ever been in and I therefore had to share it. I've never posted reviews before but this had to go down so people are aware. STAY AWAY!

Amazing Experience!

Went there for the first time a month ago and just can't stay away now. The nail service is awesome and the body massage exceptional. I had Melinda when I went.. she is phenomenal but in talking to other clients there I heard high praises about the other technicians too. Their prices are reasonable and the entire staff makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. I highly recommend this spa.

I was very satisfied

I went for a deep tissue massage and was very satisfied and happy. I ended up getting a brazillian wax and manicure pedicure and left very happy. The staff is very friendly and warm and always ask me if i feel comfortable and good! Linda is the best and the prices are very reasonable. I am from New york City and I am used to the best service and since moving down here i have to say this is the first salon I feel comfortable with. Linda is great, ask for her when you go. I live in Fairfax, and its well worth the drive:)
