Founded in 1975, BSI-Balance Systems has grown into one of the world s leading manufacturers of block and tackle sash balances for single- and double-hung windows. The company is a subsidiary of Amesbury Group, which is a division of the Laird Group. Amesbury acquired BSI in 1995. BSI-Balance Systems has four manufacturing facilities in Statesville, N.C.; Sioux Falls, S.D.; Reno, Nev.; and Toronto. The company has invested heavily in its engineering department to offer a full line of window balance designs and the capability to customize any product. BSI-Balance Systems product lines include block and tackle, as well as constant force balances for wood, vinyl, aluminum and fiberglass windows.
