Food is ok...Good service..and Portions are good and the quality is reasonable....
Prices are like other Indian restaurants...

Consistently good Indian food at reasonable prices. Favorite Indian in the LA area.

This is a follow-up to my review of 11/2/12. Since I was not interested in the buffet, and they had eliminated the remainder of their lunch menu, I returned to this restaurant for dinner. Not only had they eliminated the soup and tea, but now they wanted me to pay for the rice with my entre, which cost something like $15. When I threatened to walk out without paying, they gifted the rice. This is not my kind of place.

They serve good food here, but unless you want the buffet, it is now too expensive for lunch. I used to have lunch regularly there, and the lunch entrees ran about $10 and included soup and tea. After awhile, they stopped providing the tea. Then they stopped including soup. Then, they eliminated the lunch portions, and raised the prices of the dinner entrees, which was all you could order for lunch. I'm not really interested in the buffet, because it is chicken, and chicken and more chicken plus vegan stuff. I got pretty upset about the increasing lack of hospitality there and stopped going.

Having lived in L.A. for about a year, I've had a tough time finding a great Indian restaurant. Lal Mirch is now at the top of my list. While it is tucked away (on Ventura) and parking is slightly hazardous in the back lot (READ: tiny lot), the food and service more than makes up for it. We arrived at 5:30pm on a Saturday night. What a perfect time to go. We pretty much had the restaurant to our selves -- full attention of the wait staff -- and excellent, piping hot food. Best yet, there's a dinner for two option (two entrees, soup, rice, and dessert) reasonably priced. The butter chicken and the tikka masala were FANTASTIC! If you are craving Indian food, give this place a try.

I am Indian, My name is Ashish Pandey, I am Basically from Mumbai ,india and I regularly have Indian food outside. The tasteful decor, the excellent service, and especially the FOOD make Indian Garden one of my favorite restaurants for a long, conversational lunch or a romantic dinner. The samosas are the best anywhere, and every dish I've ever tried has become my favorite. It might be difficult to choose between the many restaurants on Devon, but Indian Garden stands out for its friendliness, consistency, and quality.

Located off Ventura blvd. in studio city, First thing you notice is the Decor. Nice place to relax, owner spared no expense compared to "ALL" the others I've been too. More importantly , the FOOD is Outrageous!!! MUST TRY the Chicken Tika Marsala. The sauce is over the top :)
