Amphitheater Public Schools, with its office located in Tuscon, Ariz., operates through a superintendent and an elected school education governing board. It administers a district comprising of more than 20 elementary, middle and high schools, including a school with an alternative program, and offers classes from grades kindergarten through 12. Its courses follow the requirements of the state education board and core subjects include English language arts, science, computer studies, social science and mathematics. It governs activities relating to education services, business and finance, and buildings and grounds of the schools in the district. Amphitheater Public Schools encourages its schools to offer a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports, such as football, softball, basketball and volleyball.
