The United States Department of Energy selected Adams Bank as a trustee in its Bank Deposit Financial Assistance Program, which provides investment capital to minority-owned financial institutions throughout the country. In March 2006, net interest for the first quarter increased by 25.8 percent to $3.9 million. The bank attributes the increase to a 44.5-percent growth in the company s loan portfolio. The company s assets totaled more than $350 million at the close of the 2006 first quarter. The Adams National Bank has multiple locations throughout Washington, D.C., including the branch on Massachusetts Avenue.
