Provided by YP.comWe get all the kids' bikes here. They take the time to get them the best fit and pay careful attention to our budget, never trying to up-sell. They make sure the kids have proper helmets and are wearing them correctly, proper sized baskets, even that the bells are positioned right on the handle bars. We trust them to service all our bikes every year to get ready for riding season because they've earned it.

Provided by YP.comI ordered 2 tires and 4 tubes on the 13th. Today is the 17th and I still haven't gotten any shipping confirmation. I called them and they told me they hadn't received the tires and tubes because they weren't in stock and wouldn't receive them until the 19th. During ordering and checkout it wasn't made clear they didn't have these in stock and processing would take this much time. I canceled my order with them.. Complete waste of time.

I was looking to upgrade from a hybrid bike to a road bike and I visited many bike shops in the Boston area to shop around. I had absolutely the best experience with Jon and Aaron at Harris Cyclery. They were kind, warm, and encouraging. I was new road biking and I became pretty frustrated with the way I was treated by other shops, like Landry's and International - I felt unwelcomed to the sport, and when I could get their attention, they focused on trying to tell me that I didn't want to buy a road bike and I should stick with hybrids. Then I went to Harris, where Jon was especially attentive and knowledgable. We talked conponents, wheels, frame care, clipless pedal system, training rides, bike maintainence - you name it, and all before I purchased anything. Talking with Jon was like talking with an old friend who cared about you having the best fit for you. I'm glad I purchased my bike there, and I would do it again. I love my bike and their service - I hope they never change!
Harris has evolved over the years from a small neighborhood shop to a great resource for cyclists looking for unusual items. Sheldon Brown, who literally put them on the map on the Internet, is one of the most respected cycling voices on the net, and has brought this shop customers from all over the world.Aside from the great info on the website, there is a lot of cool stuff on display from fully outfitted touring bikes to a recumbent trike to nice functional bikes. The staff are very knowledgable and are bike enthusiasts themselves. I've seen folks come in trying to do something unusual, and one of the staff came out to show how he'd solved a similar challenge. It's still a neighborhood shop too. So you can go in for simple repairs, a new bike to ride down the nearby Charles River path, or a unique touring bike with english saddlebags and a leather saddle. This is one of my favorite shops.
