Whaling City Transit is a family owned and operated transportation company, which has been servicing the Greater New Bedford and Fall River areas since 1972. It was originally called Neves Bus Company after its founders, Rachel & Joseph Neves. The business started with the vision of Rachel Neves of providing factory workers with affordable transportation to and from work. The Company grew from a single van servicing these workers at a rate of $3.00 per day to a fleet of over 125 vehicles and 140 employees. In 1986 the company incorporated under the name Whaling City Transit and continues to expand at its two locations, but our vision of providing safe and affordable transportation remains the same. Why choose a school bus for your next charter? Each bus is inspected by Mass DOT 3 times a year for safety and vehicle compliance, along with scheduled maintenance preformed by our company technicians and cleaning staff. Our highly trained professional drivers are polite and safety conscious insuring you a clean and reliable ride for your charter needs. School bus rentals are a cost effective way to transport large groups of people on charters such as field trips, company events, church outings, sporting events, youth groups, and even weddings. Included in our fleet are handicap accessible vans to easily accommodate those with disabilities. Large School Bus Our large school buses can hold approximately 50 adult passengers comfortably. Mid Size School Bus A mid size school bus can hold approximately 30 adult passengers comfortably. Small School Bus The small buses can hold approximately 15 adult passengers comfortably.
