New York School for the Deaf is located in White Plains, N.Y. Established in 1817, it includes elementary, middle and high school divisions. The school supports parents involvement in children s education. It offers a variety of early childhood, and professional and vocational programs. New York School for the Deaf also offers a wide range of career and transition services. The school has an instructional media center that provides computers, audiovisual equipment and other media equipment, and support and training for all faculty members and students. It also has a library that offers fiction and nonfiction books, periodicals and sign language videos for students.
