I was a tenant at Cross Creek Apts. for 2 1/2 years. Cross Creek is an average type of complex, no pool, no covered parking, good maintenance and ground keeping services. I was an ideal tenant (without exception-always paid my rent on time and in full every month, left the apt. in extremely clean immediate move-in condition, quiet, good neighbor, etc.). I am a very neat, meticulously clean, and organized person who has lived in apartments of all types in several cities in many areas of the the USA for the last 20 years. I have ALWAYS not only received all of my security deposit back after completing each lease I have also received praise from 2-3 former landlords for being such a responsible, reliable, clean and "ideal" tenant. I never had any trouble with the manager of Cross Creek and actually got along well with her during my lease period. It was when I gave my notice that I was vacating when my lease expired that things changed.

Much to my surprise when I gave verbal notice on the phone that I was vacating when the lease expired the Cross Creek manager said I had to have my carpet professionally cleaned myself or they would charge me to have it cleaned. She told me this on the phone without seeing the condition of the carpet so obviously she says this to all tenants to get them to cover the cost of getting the apartments ready for new tenants. So I had it professionally cleaned. I moved out and had a maid service do the final cleaning of the apartment. It was extremely clean and actually cleaner than when I moved in 2 1/2 years earlier. When I got my security deposit back a couple of weeks later the manager had deducted $50 to repair a very small hole(about 1/16 of an inch) a screw created to hang a small picture. Unbelievable. The carpet was already several years old when I moved in and I had literally done ZERO damage to it. Landlords are required to maintain and replace carpet and paint due to regular wear and tear. Cross Creek, or at least the manager has decided they will nickel and dime you when to move out to prepare the apartment for things that are regular wear and tear and that THEY are responsible for. Very unprofessional and tacky conduct considering I was a great tenant for 2 1/2 years and left the place in better shape than I got it. I would not be surprised if they have not been sued in small claims court over these type of situations but most people are probably like me and just don't have the time or want the hassle.

My husband and I lived at Cross creek for 3 years. It started off great and then progressively got worse. We had giant spiders that wouldn't go away. The foundation started setting so the ceiling started separating from the walls and cracks all through out. None of this was fixed, no matter how many requests we put in. It took them 3 months to fix our peeling bathtub. We had to place towels around all the windows because rain often got in and poor insulation. The management was horrible to work with and changed constantly while we were there. Things that were promised to us by previous managers were blatantly ignored or forgotten about. They don't respect their tenants and treat them like children. Also if you get packages delivered for you they will be in the office bathroom for you to pick up. At one point they accused us of having a dog when didn't have a pet and said that they were going to fine us for not having paid the pet deposit. It took over a year for the all the damage from the really bad hail storm of 2013 to get fixed. I wouldn't recommend living here to my worst enemy

Horrible management

I have lived at Cross Creek for a year and a half and have had nothing but problems with management. They are rude and inconsiderate and like previous reviewer said, they constantly have people in and out of your place and in my place no consideration for my schedule, you don't have an option, if it doesn't work for your schedule then too bad. I work nights and had made staff aware of that before when they had people coming in and out and that I sleep during the day and don't want to be woken up and they basically told me there was nothing they could do. I have been woken up at least three times by someone knocking on my bedroom door wanting to do work and I told them each time to schedule a time to come back when I wasn't sleeping, finally today they woke me up again and I told them the same thing and management called me soon after and said there was no option that it had to be done. It is the last straw with this place, terrible staff and very cheaply put together. The sooner I can get out of here the better.

My boyfriend and I were excited when we first moved in. Now, we can't wait to move out! The first 3 months we moved in, there were inspections, business people, management and all kinds of people coming in and out. They gave you a couple day notice before, but it still sucked to have people you don't know in your house almost every week! Then we had problems with our dishwasher, and the first guy to fix it didn't touch it and said it was fine. The second guy did something, which later clogged it and made water spill out all over our apartment. Then they said they didn't have a maintenance guy anymore and it would take a week or so to send someone out...then they gave us a new dishwasher, but it still clogged. So finally they sent over a plumber and he fixed it in 10 seconds. We were very upset, and management was very rude to us. Even when we called corporate to complain, they said there was nothing they could do! We've had many things break and have had to call maintenance many many times. It's not worth the price! The walls are paper thin, the layout is awful, management sucks, and we just can't wait to leave this place!!

HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT

We moved in last fall of 2011 and just moved out last November due to the biggest reason is the manager who could and will back stabbed and lie right to your face. The reason we moved in last year was because the location was quiet and the apartment were very clean plus the people who was running it made us felt very welcomed. Then they decided to replaced everybody with some low level piece of crap people who couldnt even run a buesiness
