      General Info
      The Downtown Elementary School is a prekindergarten through fifth grade school located in Winston-Salem, N.C. The school provides classes in various subjects, including music, Spanish, speech and language, English, mathematics, science and social studies. Its parent-teacher association organizes several fundraising programs and extracurricular activities for parents, teachers and students. The school s prekindergarten curriculum fosters higher-level thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. In addition, it provides food and transportation services. The Downtown Elementary School also offers academic enrichment, super kids, counseling and extended day programs. Founded in 1991, the school is a part of Winston-Salem Forsyth County Public School System.
