Established in 1966 by Socrates and Elizabeth Toulopoulos, Newtowne is still family owned and operated. The name stems from the history of Newton and Cambridge which were once one city dubbed "Newtowne". In recent years the Toulopoulos family established a second Newtowne in Billerica, Massachusetts. The idea that Socrates originally intended for his patrons still lives on with emphasis being on the customer and making sure they could enjoy a delicious meal at a reasonable price and have a great time while doing so. Newtowne Cambridge boasts several large flat screen TV's and the best jukebox in town, making any sporting event or Saturday night one to remember. The close knit neighborhood feel of Newtowne Grille can be felt the moment one steps inside and lets the neon lights, delicious specialty cocktails, and friendly service embrace them.
